and finally, the long overdued entry about the Star Cruise Virgo trip with Ticky and Rebecca!
Pictures overload! (:
En-route to Singapore Cruise Centre on the cab.. look how mega excited we were! None of us had been on a cruise before. haha.
I know it doesn't look that magnificent from this point of view, but gosh, Virgo is one hugeeee 'lady'! Weather was comfortably cooling that day, we were so looking forward to take a tour of the ship!
we were so psyched, we started taking photos with our baggage. haha. Ticky brought a LUGGAGE. bahahaha. we all packed light as it was only a weekend cruise and the little Miss Ticky packed like she was taking a week-long trip to somewhere else. lol.
Model-wannabes. Shut up if you have anything bad to say. >.<
Waiting impatiently to board the ship....
and finally!

i know this photo is dumb but we were kinda acting like tourists. hey we've never been on cruise before! (: There were actually groups of people boarding the ship behind us and they had to literally stop in their tracks for us to take this photo. OMG damn embarrassing! haha.

The lift lobby.
Lift must always have mirrors. Love the see-through glass which could allow us full view of the interior of the main lobby! NICEEE.. (:
oh, did i mention Star Virgo is 13 storeys high?! OMG, call me "sua-ku" but I've never been on a huge ship before. grins.
Isn't it grand? Makes you feel like some VIP just walking down those flight of stairs.
Rebecca and her "too-high" killer heels. haha she couldn't stop complaining the whole time! even took em off and walked barefoot. =.=
Checking in !!
Our cabin cards. Apparently you do not use cash or credit card on board the ship. Everything is paid using your individual cabin cards and you settle all the transactions together when you check out at the end of the cruise. Convenient yes?
We were so hungry that we headed to the Blue Lagoon cafe for lunch before going into our room.
The chicken rice is a must-try! Forgot to take any pictures of it as we were just too hungry. haha. Bestfriend had it again for supper the second night!
Lift to the 9th floor! Our balcony room awaits!
Looks very cosy no? The sofa near the balcony can be converted into a sofa-bed! We did not use it though, all 3 of us shared the two single beds. (: oh, and the airconditioning is definitely working well; it was so cold! reminds me of my office. LOL
Favourite part of the room? The balcony of cause! Seriously, what is the point of going on a cruise when you can't have the balcony room? Its really awesome to just look out towards the ocean at night. And the sea view is just so breathtaking! We spent majority of our time in the room's balcony just chilling out and chatting at night!
As it was still kinda early, we relaxed a lil at the balcony and took loads of pictures. (:
You can see that we're still at the dock. Waiting for the ship to start sailing!
After relaxing for abit, we decided to explore the ship. (:
The Casino... couldn't take any pictures inside but Rebecca lost 10 bucks on jackpot within 5 minutes the next day! TSK. I'm so lucky I'm not addicted to gambling.
The huge chill-out lounge where some activities such as bingo games are being held. We spent our first night hanging out at the lounge! Very relaxing and the place is so big you can definitely can some privacy.. Just choose a table that is more secluded from the crowds!
Captain.. not!
Odd tools that captains in the past use to navigate around the ocean. Thank god for the technology now!
A library on board the ship, people who actually go there to read.. are probably scarce. hahaha. I mean, isn't that like a total waste of money! -.-
Can you imagine coming onboard a cruise with your significant other and the moment you both checked in, he tells you, "Honey, I think I'm gonna check out the library for some books." Major =.=||...
Love those ancient murals on the wall, made the whole ship look so classy.

THE LIDO! where all the performances are held on board the cruise. the 9pm shows every night is a MUST go!
I know it looks damn empty and scary right now. But hey! everyone's still checking in and we were the only ones running around taking photos. HAHA.
The huge slide! We couldn't wait to try it the moment we saw it. Apparently the tube goes all the way out of the borders of the ship! And the transparent tubing allows you to look out at the sea as you slide down!
The Kiddy pool was closed for renovations when we were there. :( Looks pretty fun though. Poor kids who couldn't play in it that weekend!
We took this on board the ship, zoom in to the max. Plus points for Rebecca's uber good camera!
The Helipad.
They even have a mini golf course for avid golfers!
After all that walking around, we got hungry again. What's on the list of restaurants? We decided to try the International Buffet at the Mediterranean Terrace!

Just look at the different arrays of cuisine. Totally spoilt for choices!
Looking at all these food is making my stomach growl now. grrr. We tried EVERYTHING. haha.
r
Dessert! Girls will always have room for dessert yes?
The uncle in the background is so 'friendly', he kept waving at the camera. -.-
After dinner, we took a little walk and await for the start of our 9pm show!
Apparently, this phone is a signature item on board. HAHA. I have friends going on the cruise, and every single one of them took photos with the phone. Funny thing was, it was working and the lady at the other end kept on going "hello" while we posed. LOL.
Maestral & Muse Show
(Forgot to take a picture of the poster onboard, found this online!)
The performance was amazing. Heart-stopping acrobatic acts and lively song/dance moves by a mix of performers from China and Russia. The audience couldn't stop wow-ing and ah-ing at every single act. We were stunned. Boy, can they fly/jump/stretch/pull! HAHA.
After the show, we decided to head to the duty-free shop for some snacks/booze!

Ticky & Rebecca choosing their snacks. We bought prawn crackers and tapioca chips. So tempted to buy the Skittles there but they were in giant packs and we do not want to 'high' ourselves silly with sugar rush.
A liveband plays outside the Ports-O-Call at the lounge every night. They were playing my favourite "Hotel California" by The Eagles when we walked past it!
Choosing the wine. So many brands and different years to choose from! We got confused and decided to seek help from a very friendly staff. As we were already out of Singapore seas by then, the prices of the wine were REALLY cheap!

Rebecca looks mighty satisfied with her wine choice. lol.
Off to Galaxy Of Stars to drink/relax! The good thing is that once we purchased the wine from the shop, we could bring it to ANY part of the ship to drink! The staff will serve it for you. We got top notch service for a $30+ bottle of wine. hehehe.

We chosed a quiet table nearer to the back for some privacy. (:

CHEERS.
They played jazz music all night, we spend about an hour just relaxing and chatting about everything under the sunmoon. (:
Went back to the room and relaxed a lil before we all KO-ed for the night!

Look at my red face. Haha. I get red on alcohol really easily! That must mean I have good blood circulation right?
2ND DAY!
Rise and Shine! We woke up pretty late and missed our breakfast buffet. :"( It was already lunch time by the time we all woke! tsk.
Chilling at the balcony again, our daily favourite. Haha.
Trying unsuccessfully to emote those korean drama story genres where GIRL onboard a cruise thinking about her love. =.=

Misty afternoon. Not a single ship/island in sight, we could not even tell properly whether the ship was moving as there was nothing mobile around us to guide us! Feels so good to be out in the middle of "nowhere". Haha.
Corridor outside our room. We kept getting mixed up with the room numbers which resulted in us walking extra long routes to and from our room. =\
We happened to walk past the WorldCard counter at the hotel lobby before lunch.
Ticky decided to sign up since its free. Haha, yay now a Star Cruiser WorldCard member!
Lunch time!
OMG the queue! Massive throngs of people crowding at the international buffet! And this was only the side of the restaurant where the indian cuisine was served! We were so hungry but lazy to queue that we ended up...
eating cakes only. :( no proper lunch!
Headed back to our room and chanced upon ship crews doing demonstrations of safety procedures.
Poor dude has to jump into the sea and be "rescued". Haha. For a moment, we all thought he really fell down and were laughing like idiots at how stupid he was. Only when the announcement came did we realise. =X
We spent a good hour goofing around the balcony, taking photos, laughing at random jokes, and doing idiotic dance moves. The videos we took on the cruise were mad-fun!

Dun ask me why Rebecca decided to bring her "mouse-ears" hairband on a cruise. LOL
We had so much fun we decided to stay in the room the whole day.
HAHA.
just kidding!
Figuring out the schedule/newsletter that they gave to us daily. The newsletter shows a whole timetable of all the activities that are happening onboard the cruise that day. They have classes like fan-making workshop, line-dancing classes, bingo games, facepainting classes etc. So fun right?
OFF TO SWIM!!! (or rather, to soak lazily in the jacuzzi..lol)
we went past the gym along the way..

They even have a gym instructor onboard the ship to guide you on how to make the best use of the gym equipments!
The indoor jacuzzi!
And the outdoor jacuzzi awaits!!

The sun was so sweltering hot that we couldn't have proper vision without our shades on. BE PREPARED with sunblock!
Finally, the slide!!!

ONE WORD: FUN! definitely a MUST to go on this slide! The thrill of sliding down into the gushing water was so exhilarating! I feel like a kid again! The view was also amazing! A scaredy cat me asked the guard on top of the slide whether it was scary. Lol!
After all the playing around and behaving like children running up and down to take the slide, we went for ICE CREAM!
Looks like a really sad looking sundae but very satisfying after burning in the hot sun for so long! We actually finished our sundaes within 5 minutes.
We were too darn lazy to head back to the room to shower, chancing upon a "Karaoke Contest" on the schedule, we decided WHY NOT?? hahahaha. No one knew us onboard the cruise even if we make fools of ourselves anyway! =X
CELEBRITY DISCO!

Beer & nuts, mighty combo!

Choosing the songs from the songbooks!
The host of the day. Don't be fooled by his tacky white berms and tucked-in polo tee, he is a really good singer! haha no offence. (:
We didn't win anything. GRUMBLES. Lost to a guy who was super dressed up for the contest! Suit and all, okay gotta give him credit for effort. Alright alright, he sang well. We went into the place dripping wet and shivering like mad! :( It was definitely an experience though! Never would we have joined if we were in Singapore, HAHAHAH. The other contestants were some middle-aged uncles/aunties who sang oldies! The prize of winning was a Dolphin figurine and a medal. HAHAHA.
All that singing and shivering made us ravenous!
OFF FOR JAPANESE FOOD AT THE SAMURAI!
I hereby declare the best meal I had on the cruise! The prawn was HUGEEEE and the garlic aroma from it was so tantalizing. This is, however, a paid restaurant so be prepared to fork out extra for it! Definitely worth it though.. YUMS.
We ordered 3 set dinners, which came with appetizers and dessert. Value for money! (:
Just for that tourist vibe. HEHE.
After the food, we headed to the arcade for some gaming fun! Not exactly adult gaming like the casinos but well, we're contented!

How can an arcade not have GUITAR HEROES! (:

Behaving like kids getting so excited playing all the arcade games! The people in the arcade were mostly children! We were maybe more than twice their age even! Haha.
We rented the Nintendo WII. Raving Rabbits FTW!!!
I WON!!!
After all that "exercising", we got hungry again. (haha, i know we're damn cheapo, FREE WHAT!! must try the western dinner although we've just eaten the japanese like 2 hours ago. HAHAHA) Pity we did not have the time to try out the chinese restaurant on the ship! Only when I came back did I hear my friends/family recommending me that the food there was good. =\
Service was really impeccable! The server gave us polite suggestions and even gave us complimentary appetizers per person! (we were supposed to have one each but we got two appetizers each instead!)
Piano in the middle of the restaurant. No pianist?!
Awaiting the food..
Look at the huge serving! Couldn't really finish it as we were still partially full from the japanese dinner. HAHA greedy us! It was a really good dinner though, coupled with such good service. hehe. We're suckers for kind-loving people!

Nothing can go wrong with Tiramisu!

The cheese platter. Ooo I LOVE CHEESE. (:
Complimentary fruit platter from the server! (: AWW.
*DROOLING*
random shot of Ticky. The wine was "hair-raisingly" awesome! LOL
And finally the show of the night, onward to THE LIDO!
This Terry Parade guy is one really hilarious dude. His antics and retarded actions really makes you crack up. Really one of the most talented juggler I've ever seen! Some of his actions remind me of Mr Bean in some ways. LOL
and guess WHAT...
i got PULLED ON STAGE!!!!!!! =.=
Pseudo wedding march. hahahaha. the wedding march song was playing and he was throwing confetti all around as we walked towards the stage! mighty embarrassing. LOL Why am i seated at the sideeee!?!??! groans.

Pardon the blur images, we were sitting at almost the end of the hall that's why!
Security was really efficient. =X Rebecca took this 4 snapshots of me and within 20 seconds, a torchlight shined on her to warn her of the "no-camera" rule. SHHHHH*
WELL, in short, we were made to juggle balls (albeit very messily cause I kept dropping everything!), hold swirling plates on sticks, and I had an australian guy and an indian guy kneel down in front of me saying "I LOVE YOU" on stage. HAHA.
After the show, everyone knew my name and recognised me. =.= omggg.
A collage of the Shipboard management outside The Lido! *Salute to them!*
Headed to the Ports-O-Call for more snacks before heading back to the room to relax.
A pathetic shot of the moon. The view was so beautiful! Okay the photo does not do the awesome view any justice.
It was off to sleep and home the next morning! :(
.
.
We woke up LATE.. and rushed around, skipping the breakfast buffet AGAIN. darn! and we were so bent on eating the cereals that we actually went to ask the staffs at the buffet for some but they were already closed. :(
So nice of the crew to await outside to bid to you goodbye with a song. (: They even remembered our names from the Karaoke contest! Haha. I must say the people on the cruise are really super friendly and eager to please! I had so many bad experiences with the service line that I was really pleasantly surprise. (: Thank you to the people on board the Star Virgo!!
It was a really unforgettable trip. My virgin trip on a cruise! Love the top-notch service, the relaxing balcony, the mouthwatering food and of course, the awesome company of my two lovely girlfriends, Ticky & Rebecca! We really spent the weekend having a great time, relaxing and catching up and basically just enjoying the ocean view!
XOXO
